IFAT - established to provide excellent First Aid Training

Irish First Aid Training offer courses to help individuals and organisations and their employees to learn essential first aid skills, such as CPR, use of AEDs, wound care, and how to respond to common emergencies. 

Some examples of the IFAT specialised first aid training include:

  1. Common everyday First Aid/Emergencies – Learning to cope with common everyday first aid emergencies that can happen at any time, and being prepared with basic first aid knowledge that can help candidates be an effective cog in the chain of survival.

  2. Advanced First Aid – For those needing a deeper understanding of trauma management, such as managing fractures, burns, and advanced wound care.

  3. Paediatric First Aid – Focused on treating infants and children, covering topics like choking, burns, head injuries, and how to administer CPR to younger patients and administer help with an AED.

  4. Outdoor First Aid – Designed for outdoor enthusiasts, this course focuses on treating injuries or illnesses in remote locations, where professional medical help may not be immediately available.

  5. Sports First Aid – Targeted for those involved in sports, it covers injury prevention, treatment of common sports injuries like sprains, strains, and concussions, and how to handle sports-related emergencies.

  6. CPR Training (CardioPulmonary Resuscitation) – Training people when to use and proper technique in administering one of the most fundamental, effective life saving skills.

  7. AED Training (Automated External Defibrillator) – Training people to properly use External automated defibrillators, crucial in the early and effective care of cardiac arrest.

  8. First Aid Response (FAR) – A comprehensive first aid training program that prepares individuals to manage emergency situations with confidence and effectiveness.

  9. Mental Health for First Aid Responders – Awareness of and solutions to support people experiencing post event stress, offering skills to help recognise and respond to mental health issues common in post traumatic event episodes.

Irish First Aid Training, is a company run by Roger Thomas, a Physio set up in the South East for over 20 years.

Roger first learned First Aid in North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club, in 1993, in Sydney Australia. Over 5 years working there as a volunteer Life Saver, Roger honed his skills with the everyday beach dramas and went on to mentor and train incoming members.

Since returning to Ireland, Roger has kept his First Aid skills up to date and now offers PHECC accredited, First Aid Courses, across Ireland.
